According to the most recent campaign disclosure reports filed 10/21, ex-Sen Dan Coats (R) had more than eight times as much CoH midmonth as Rep. Brad Ellsworth (D-08).
Coats reported $1M CoH on Oct. 13 compared with Ellsworth's $119K+. The latest figures -- the last full disclosure reports required before the Nov. 2 election -- cover activity from Oct. 1-13. Coats raised $243K+ during that period compared with $68K+ raised by Ellsworth.
Ellsworth has been helped by the $1.5M Sen. Evan Bayh (D) has given state Dems, of which about $850K can directly help Ellsworth through staff, mailings and polling. Coats has benefited from more than $340K spent by the GOP and outside groups to help him (Groppe, Indianapolis Star, 10/21).
