Shales To Exit WashPo In Dec.
Washington Post's TV writer Tom Shales "says he's probably going to leave the paper when his contract expires" in Dec. Shales: "I'm just older than just about everyone in Style. It's just weird, but I'm the last of the institutional memory, at least in the Style section. I can't imagine those people being sentimental about me leaving" (Beaujon, TBD.com, 10/21).
Down Not Out
"New York Times Co. shareholder Harbinger Capital reduced its holdings in the newspaper publisher" to 10.7M shares, "down from" 13.1M shares as of 6/30 (New York Post, 10/22).
