Nachos And Chicken Strips Help Clear "DWTS" Contestant

AK investigators announced teen mom/abstinence advocate Bristol Palin "did not violate the law by appearing last month at an Anchorage bar and grill." Bristol, who is 19, was in Rumrunners Old Towne Bar and Grill for a performance by "Dancing with the Stars" dance partner Mark Ballas. AK law "permits those under 21 to be inside such establishments if they're accompanied by a parent, spouse or legal guardian over age 21 and there to eat."
AK Alcoholic Beverage Control Board dir. Shirley Gifford "says Palin was with an older guardian, drinking only water and eating nachos and chicken strips" (Bohrer, AP, 10/8).
Ballas writes in USA Today that backstage on "DWTS" the "celebs remain pretty loose, with not too much nervous energy. All of the guys like to make (retired NFL quarterback) Kurt Warner throw the ball around and impress us with his incredible accuracy to keep our minds at ease and distract us on results show days. ... Speaking of Kurt, before every show my dad (pro dancer Corky Ballas, partnered with entertainer Florence Henderson) does a ceremonial chest bump with Kurt."
"Bristol's been working hard on her recorded routine from North Dakota the past two days, and she tells me she's starting to really feel comfortable with it. My challenge is to get her to dance emotionally to really pull this dance off. She certainly can do it!" (10/8).
