President Has No Clue About Top Aide's Plans
Even President Obama doesn't know whether White House Chief of Staff Emanuel will leave the administration to run for Chicago mayor, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday.
Emanuel hasn't made up his mind, Gibbs said, and Obama has not been given any hints of his top aide's plans.
Emanuel has made no secret of his desire to someday run for mayor of Chicago. Longtime Mayor Richard Daley's announcement that he would not seek re-election has raised speculation that Emanuel would leave the White House this fall to run.
