Sen. Stevens Burial At Arlington Today
The body of former Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who died in an Aug. 9 plane crash in Alaska, will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at 1 p.m. today.
Stevens, the longest-serving Republican senator in history with more than 40 years in the Senate, was in the Army Air Corps during World War II and received the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Senate leaders have postponed their usual weekly luncheons until Wednesday because of the services today.
